Almost three quarters (72.2%) of employees in Romania say they currently work from the office at least 3 days a week, although the effects of the pandemic are now wider than last year. Most of them believe that returning to office has an important contribution to maintaining an emotional balance and to the recovery of the economy, according to a survey initiated by Genesis Property among 1,100 employees across the country, between September and October.
At the same time, half of the employees point out that an acceleration of the vaccination campaign is extremely necessary to combat the effects of wave 4 of the pandemic. About 44% of them consider that in this context, additional sanitation and social distancing measures are needed to limit the spread of the virus, and 38% see the need for more frequent testing of people.
80% of respondents believe that the return of employees to office life is beneficial for people, both personally and professionally. In addition, almost 43% of them consider that the main advantage of returning to the office is a better separation between professional and personal life, and 36% emphasize that the office contributes significantly to a better interaction with colleagues and managers.
About 40% of respondents say that their employer has integrated sanitary measures and established additional procedures for office work. At the same time, more than 50% of employees say that more effective health measures should be introduced in schools, given the incidence of Covid-19 among children. Over 45% support the hybrid learning system for better distance of children and the installation of more efficient sanitation systems in schools.
Measures provided for in the IMMUNE standard ™, essential for the health of workplaces and schools
There are currently several office buildings in the world that have implemented or are in the process of implementing the measures required by the standard and have obtained certification for "healthy buildings". The H3 building in the West Gate Business District office complex is the first in the world to achieve the highest level of IMMUNE certification ™, thus providing occupants with a healthy experience when working in the office.
IMMUNE Building Standard ™ was developed by the Romanian company Genesis Property in April 2020, to assess and certify the health of the interior space, where people spend over 90% of their time. The standard proposes 135 coherent measures that, once implemented - in part or in full, provide building or company owners with the tools they need to monitor and adjust their health.
The Genesis Property survey on employees' perceptions of building health was conducted nationwide in September-October 2021 through the iVox platform, on a total sample of 1,100 internet users in Romania. Almost 54% of the participants are women, over 50% are between 25 and 40 years old, and 53% have a net income of more than 3,000 lei.
