Even though Romania keeps the same place as last year, its overall points have improved slightly from last year by 0.48 points up to 65.11 points thanks to the progress made on three topics as follows: starting a business, paying taxes and enforcing contracts.
“Romania has simplified starting up a business by transferring the registration certificate from the Tax Administration to the Trade Register Office…Romania has made the payment of taxes easier and less costly by cutting the frequency of the payments from once a quarter-year to twice a year….Romania has simplified the enforcement of contracts by adopting a new civil procedure code and speeding up all the judicial procedures”, shows the Doing Business 2014 report.
