Bulgaria recorded the lowest prices, with 48% of the EU average, whereas Denmark saw the highest prices in the EU, at 138% of the EU average, according to EU’s statistical office Eurostat.
The lowest prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages were recorded in Poland (61% of the EU average), Romania (68%) and Bulgaria (70%). Denmark had the biggest prices with 139% of the EU average.
Romania ranked third for lowest prices in the EU on tobacco and alcoholic drinks, with 72% of the EU average. Only Bulgaria and Hungary record lower prices for these items. (source: Romania-insider.com)
