Globalworth Campus, an office complex developed by Globalworth real estate investment firm, founded by Greek businessman Ioannis Papalekas in the Pipera business area in Bucharest, was proposed by Romania in Brussels as the headquarters of the European Medicines Agency, according to Profit.ro.

The complex, built near the Pipera subway station, will have 3 buildings with a total leasable area of 87,800 square meters.

The first building in the Globalworth Campus was completed in the first quarter of this year, with a leasable area of approximately 28,000 square meters.

The future headquarters of the two agencies will be determined by a vote on 20 November. The European Commission will evaluate the candidates by September 30, but without proposing a ranking. The stake is important and consists in the relocation of hundreds of employees, their families, and the resulting economic income.

According to Profit.ro, the owner of the building will receive an amount to reserve the building and then rent it to the state, but even if Romania is not designated to host the agency, the owner will still receive the amount for booking the building. (source: profit.ro)
