The PET tomography uses small amounts of radioactive materials, a special camera and a computer to evaluate organ and tissue functions. The CT imaging refers to computer tomography.
Affidea Romania was the first local company which brought the PET/CT investigation in Romania in 2008, said Radu Lupu-Gorduza, company CEO. The firm will conclude a contract with the National Insurance House in a few weeks, which will allow patients to carry out the PET/CT investigations for free as the costs would be covered by the state.
