Construction works volume 4% down in 1Q compared to 2012
Construction works volume, unadjusted series, decreased with 4.1% in 1Q 2013 compared to the same period of last year and the new construction volume decreased with 15.2% according to National Institute of Statistics.
In the structure elements class increases were registered for capital repair works (47.9%) and current reparation and maintenance works (12.9%). The new construction works decreased with 15.2%.
In the construction objects class, the residential and non-residential construction works volume increased with 23.2%, and with 3.4% respectively. The engineering construction volume is down with 10.4%.
In 1Q 2013, compared with the same quarter of last year the volume of construction works, adjusted series by working days number and season diminished with 5.1%, decrease highlighted for the new construction works (13.5%). The capital repairs and current repairs and maintenance works there were registered increases of 50.4% and 7.3% respectively.
For the construction objects class there were registered increases for the residential and non-residential buildings with 21.1% and 5.1% respectively. The engineering constructions decreased with 12%.
In March 2013, the construction works volume increased compared to February 2013, with 28.8% as unadjusted series and with 2.7% as adjusted series by working days number and season. The new construction works the volume increased with 34.1%, while the capital works and current repairs and maintenance works increased with 23.5% and 18.4% respectively.
As construction objects, the non-residential buildings and engineering constructions registered an increase with 43.4% and 29.5% respectively. The residential buildings registered a decrease of 0.5%.
Compared to the same month of last year, as unadjusted series, the construction works volume increased with 1%, with a most evident growth for capital repairs (21.6%) and current repairs and maintenance works (11.7%). The new constructions decreased with 5.6%
The non-residential buildings and engineering constructions registered an increase of 1.4% and 1.2% respectively, while the residential went down with 0.7%. (source: economica.net)
