'Identified during the discussions were some opportunities of cooperation in IT as well as in other fields where the potential of Cluj County's economy is extremely solid. In this regard, Mrs Ambassador appreciated the initiative to establish and the support from the County Council to the IT Cluster and the scientific and technological park Tetapolis, underscoring the fact that in Canada this model of collaboration between business milieu, universities and authorities public has proved to be extremely viable, as well,' reads a release issued by the Cluj County Council.
Horia Uioreanu unveiled to the Canadian ambassador the business infrastructure and facilities that the Cluj County Council makes available to the business operators interested and assured the Canadian representatives of the total availability of the institution he represents and the wish to support any investment.
'The meeting was more than necessary and useful, and I have unveiled to Mrs Ambassador of Canada the numerous benefits that Canadian investors can enjoy if they opt to invest in Cluj. At the same time, we are interested in a more active presence of Canadian companies in the county's economy, the current situation being far below the real potential of this relationship.
We have also decided to encourage the collaboration of Cluj universities with higher education and research institutions in Canada, in the interest of the both sides,' mentioned Horia Uioreanu.
Operating in Cluj County are 49 Canadian-owned companies, the best-known of them being the world's leader in rail field, Bombardier Transportation. (source: actmedia.eu)
