The project is meant to relieve traffic congestion in the Mihai Bravu Road – Splaiul Unirii – Vacaresti crossroad in Bucharest. The deadline for completing works is 15 months from the moment the contract is awarded.
Proposals can be submitted by June 13 and the tender will be held the same day.
Works on the Mihai Bravu overpass first began in January 2011 and the contract was awarded to now insolvent Romstrade, a local construction company controlled by Nelu Iordache, one of the Romanian businessmen dubbed the “kings of asphalt”. He is presently in custody after being charged of having embezzled RON 25 million (approx. EUR 5.6 million) out of the funds allocated for the construction of the Nadlac-Arad highway.
PMC terminated the contract with Romstrade last December. (source: business-review.eu)
