According to the prefect, several projects in the district, including Belvedere project in Calea Sighisoarei area from Targu Mures, could resume.

Belvedere, started in 2007, includes the construction of 300 buildings, schools, kindergardens and stores.

The prefect said that establishing the protection area of 50m in the probes area is conform to Romanian legislation and European rules.

Local Council in Targu Mures has approved in September 2005, the association with SC Contranscom Benta SA for the development of a residential project with 294 units, with a mortgage credit. Belvedere was supposed to be completed in five years from the handover of the plot to the investor.

The construction, with a value over EUR 50 million, has started in June 2007, with half an year delay, due to the works for the site’s utilities.

Rodica Farcasan, the head of the Investment Department within Targu Mures City Hall, has then declared that the municipality has invested EUR 8 million in the project, representing the road infrastructure, the rest being a private investment. (source: wall-street.ro)
