Romania’s constructions sector down in October by 0.1 pct

The constructions works registered a drop in October by 0.1 percent compared with the same month of 2015, because of the decline in infrastructure works, while the residential constructions works went up significantly, according to the data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Overall, in July 2016, seasonally adjusted production in the construction sector increased by 1.8 percent in the euro area (EA19) and by 1.1 percent in the EU28, data released by the Eurostat shows.

Construction permits down 10.1 pct in July, compared to the same period in 2015

The number of construction permits for residential buildings issued in July 2016 dropped 10.1 percent compared to the same period in 2015, and by 4.1 percent compared to June 2016, the Romanian National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced in a press release sent to Agerpres on Monday.

Romania registers the third annual increase of constructions works in EU this June

Romania is on the third place in EU on the constructions works growth in June compared with the same month of the last year, with an increase of 4.6 percent, being overpassed by Sweden, which registered a growth of 16.3 percent and Spain 6.9 percent, according to the European Statistics Agency (Eurostat).

Construction works in Romania were up y-o-y in H1 2016 overall, 5.3 percent in unadjusted terms and 5 percent when adjusted for work days and seasonality, according to data released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics.

Romania, second largest construction works increase in EU

Romania is placed on the second place in EU regarding the increase of the construction works in May 2016, compared to the same month of the last year, up by 7.5 percent, being surpassed only by Sweden, with 14.4 percent, according to the data presented on Tuesday by the European Statistical Office (Eurostat).
