The 5.3-percent increase was a result of a 9.7-percent rise in current repairs and maintenance and a 6.1-percent increase in new construction.

Capital repairs declined 6.1 percent.

 

H1 2016 increases were reported for engineering structures and residential buildings, of 8.7 percent and 5.4 percent, respectively.

Construction works on non-residential buildings declined 0.6 percent.

 

Adjusted for work days and seasonality, the increase was the result of a 14.1-percent markup in current repair and maintenance and a 3.4-percent rise in new construction.

 

Capital repairs reported a 5.5-percent decline.

Engineering structure works and works on residential buildings were up 12.5 percent and 3.7 percent, respectively. Works on non-residential buildings were down 1.5 percent.

 

In June 2016, construction works were up 17.4 percent in gross terms on a monthly basis, on a 26.6-percent increase in new construction and a 14.8-percent increase in current repair and maintenance. Capital repairs were down 16.9 percent.

 

Rises were reported in works on engineering structures (26 percent), residential buildings (6.5 percent) and non-residential buildings (6.2 percent).

 

Adjusted for work days and seasonality, construction works were up 0.4 percent, on a 6.5-percent rise in new construction. Drops were reported in capital repairs (-19.4 percent) as well as current repair and maintenance (-6.3 percent).

 

Works on engineering structures were down 2 percent, while works on residential buildings declined 11 percent and those on non-residential buildings dropped by 9.6 percent.

 

In June 2016, compared with June 2015, construction works were up 5.6 percent in gross terms. New construction was up 12.2 percent, while capital repairs were down 10.1 percent and current repair and maintenance was down 2.8 percent.

 

Works on residential buildings and engineer structures were up 13.3 percent and 7.2 percent, respectively. Works on non-residential buildings were down 1.3 percent.
