Romania’s economy accelerates growth in third quarter

Romania’s Gross Domestic Products (GDP) increased by 1.9% in the third quarter of 2014, compared to the previous quarter (Q2), according to data released by the national Statistics Institute (INS) on Friday, November 14.

FDI to Romania totals EUR 1.5 billion at the end of September

Direct foreign investment to Romania totalled EUR 1.5 billion at the end of September, according to data from the Central Bank BNR. Out of the total FDI, equity stakes, included reinvested earnings, amounted to EUR 1.3 billion while intragroup loans stood at EUR 171 million.

The IT & C sector made it to the third-largest contributor to Romania's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 1,700 relevant projects received European financing, Minister for the Information Society Razvan Cotovelea told the conference for the presentation of the National Strategy on the 2014-2020 Digital Agenda of Romania.

Coface: Insolvencies in Romania down 17 percent in Q3

During the first nine months of this year 15,575 new insolvencies were registered in Romania, down 17 percent compared to the same period of 2013, when 18.735 new insolvencies were opened, an analysis by credit risk management firm Coface shows. The analysis is based on the data provided by the National Trade Registry.

Uniqa Group wants to fully lease Floreasca Tower in 2015

Uniqa Real Estate Management, a subsidiary of Austrian insurer Uniqa Group and the manager of the company’s real estate portfolio, has completed the refurbishment of Floreasca Tower, the 7,600 sqm office building it owns in northern Bucharest, the company announced on Wednesday.

Construction works decreased in nine months compared to previous year

In the first nine months of 2014, compared to the similar period in 2013, the volume of construction works decreased by 10.8%, respectively by 11.7%, both as unadjusted series and as series adjusted with the working days number and seasonality.
