Renault's future headquarters, located in Preciziei area, west of the capital, will include two Class A buildings that will be connected so they will look like a single building. The assembly will have a built area of 47,000 square meters, distributed on seven levels - 40,000 square meters in the first building and 7,000 square meters in the second building. The project will be completed in the first semester of 2019.
The new headquarters will be staffed by Renault Romania employees, who currently have their office in five buildings in Bucharest. These can be joined by colleagues in the country. Renault, which took over Dacia in 1999, owns two factories and a logistics hub in Mioveni (Arges County) in Romania, and a technical vehicle testing center inaugurated in 2010 in Titu (Dambovita County).
"For Bucharest activities, we will have Renault Bucharest Connected: 3,000 jobs in Bucharest, in a unique headquarters. Renault Bucharest Connected is more than just a real estate project, it is a management project that helps improve our employees' working conditions and our efficiency", said Yves Caracatzanis, Managing Director of Groupe Renault Romania.
In addition to workspaces, the RBC project will include a Groupe Renault showroom, an 350-seat amphitheatre for indoor and outdoor events, a design centre (to be moved from Titu), a restaurant, a medical office and IT infrastructure. The Renault headquarters will have 1,000 parking spaces and electric car charging stations.
It is the first time since Groupe Renault came to Romania when the company brings together all activities located in Bucharest (design, engineering, business services, trade and other support functions) in a single space.
RBC will be developed by Elgan Office, a company owned equally by Globalworth and Elgan Group (represented by Simon Roth), which last year won an auction organized by Renault.
For the new headquarters, the Renault group organized an auction that was won by Globalworth and Elgan Group because the two developers already had the land they could build. The developers took over a land of 57,000 square meters from Coca-Cola, behind the Precisiei metro station.
"This land was specially bought for this project. I participated in the tender organized by the Renault group with this plot", said Dimitris Raptis, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Globalworth. He does not exclude that, in the future, Globalworth will also take over the share of the investment held by Elgan Group.
Raptis said that the new building will be rented for a minimum of 11 years and is expected to expand this period.
"The relocation of Groupe Renault Romania is the largest leasing transaction in the office building market in Romania and the first investment Globalworth is doing in the West of Bucharest", added Dimitris Raptis.
With this lease, Groupe Renault becomes Globalworth's largest tenant. (source: forbes.ro)
