The employment rate among the working-age population (15-64) amounted to 61%, according to the National Institute of Statistics.
In 2014, Romania’s active population reached 9.2 million, 8.6 million of whom were employed and 629,000 unemployed.
Some 31% of the total employed population were self-employed and unpaid family workers.
