"Over the past five years, Bucharest's office stock has increased by about 800,000 square meters, from 1.8 million square meters to over 2.6 million square meters, while the vacancy rate has fallen from 15 % to 8-8.5%. As a result, we estimate that the number of employees working in modern office buildings in Bucharest increased by about 70,000 to around 250,000 people", says Mădălina Cojocaru, partner, office agency at Cushman & Wakefield Echinox, quoted by Ziarul Financiar.
The consultants' data, based on the projects announced in the market for the coming years, show that "over the next ten years, it is feasible to reach the five million square meter benchmark." This means that an additional 2.4 million square meters will be delivered, ie workspaces for about 240,000 corporate employees, at an average of 8-10 square meters that correspond to each employee in modern office buildings.
Over the next 18 months, Bucharest will reach a stock of three million square meters of office space. (Source: zf.ro)
