The new provisions are included in an Ordinance of the Government (Ordinance 25/2014) published in the Official Gazette since August 29, 2014, which states that all foreigners legally residing in Romania may be hired only based on the employment permit obtained by employers.
The document will be issued by the General Inspectorate for Immigration based on an application and several documents submitted by the employer such as: a copy of the foreigner’s valid border crossing document and, if necessary, his temporary residence permit in Romania; two 3/4 photos of the foreigner; a declaration of the foreigner that he is fit to be employed and has minimum knowledge of Romanian language; the job description.
The employer also has to submit a copy of his identity card and prove that he meets certain general conditions. (source: Romania-insider.com)
