Preliminary data from the real estate consultants show that in Bucharest were transacted in the first quarter office spaces of 61,000 sq. m, with 13% increase compared to the similar period of 2013, while the increase registered in the rest of the country was 50%. In Bucharest, more than a quarter of those spaces were rented within a sole transaction.
„The IT&C sector doubled its activity in the first quarter of this year compared to the first quarter of 2013. This growth came from companies expanded the occupied space in A class office buildings, for which we can estimate the business increase, as well as from companies which continued to relocate from inferior quality buildings to A class offices “, has declared Daniela Popescu, head of research within Colliers International.
The biggest transaction on the office market in the first quarter of this year is represented by the lease signed by Vodafone for 16,000 sq. m in Bucharest One tower in Northern Bucharest, developed by the businessman Ioannis Papalekas, according to ZF analysis based on data supplied by real estate consultants.
