According to the INS, the gross nominal average salary in March 2015 was 2,529 lei, by 5.6% higher than in February 2015.

Compared to March 2014, the net nominal average salary increased by 7.2%. The real salary index versus the same period of the previous year was 106.4%.

Related to the trend of consumer prices, the said index was 105.3% for March 2015 compared to the previous month. Compared to October 1990, the real salary index stood at 135.1%, by 6.8 percentage points higher compared to that in February 2015.

In the public sector, increases were recorded in net average salary from the previous month in education (6.1%), due to the application of legal provisions in the current legislation, and also as a result of granting the amounts the hourly payment of teachers.

Slight increases in the net average salary from the previous month were recorded also in healthcare and social assistance (1.7%) and in public administration (1.4%). (source: nineoclock.ro)
