Dimitris Raptis, Deputy CEO and Globalworth Investment Director, did not wish to comment on the information.
Through this move, Globalworth would completely dominate the office area on Barbu Vacarescu street. Among the few quality buildings not owned by Ioannis Papalekas's investment fund are Floreasca Tower owned by UNIQA and Sky Tower, the tallest building in Romania owned by Raiffeisen.
If it takes over NEPI offices, Globalworth will reach a total of over 400,000 sqm in Bucharest, meaning that it would have 16% of the nearly 2.5 million sq m of Class A and B offices in the capital.
If the offices in Cluj and Timisoara are also taken into account, then the investment fund will go up to 500,000 sqm at the end of next year, when the Globalworth Campus project in Dimitrie Pompeiu will be ready, a project that will have 87,000 sqm of leased space in the three buildings .
Papalekas's latest acquisition targeted the third building of Skanska's Green Court project in Gara Herastrau St. for 38 million Euros. NEPI's office portfolio in the Barbu Văcărescu area includes Lakeview and Floreasca Business Park buildings, plus the City Business Centre project in Timişoara, half of The Office project in Cluj, of which the other half is owned by Romanian entrepreneur Ovidiu Sandor and Aupark Kosice Tower in Slovakia.
