The store in Bucharest is situated on Theodor Pallady Blvd. in sector 3 and the one in Craiova is situated on Maramures St. Since the beginning of the year the retailer has opened five new stores, in Iasi, Arad, Bucuresti, Popesti Leordeni andTimisoara, has changed the location of the store in Targu Mures and closed a unit in Drobeta Turnu Severin, according to Mediafax.
The company has announced 15 new openings for this year. Lidle entered the local market in 2010, when it took over from Tengelmann group approx. 100 Plus discount stores. According to a report of the Concurrence Council, Lidl is situated on the third position of the large retailers top, considering the sales in 2012, after Kaufland and Carrefour.
