Four constructors fight to provide 70,000 mc concrete for Magurele Centre
The constructor of the scientific research centre from Magurele ELI-NP will be announced in the next two weeks, declared Tudor Prisecaru, state secretary within National Education Ministry, announcing that four big companies have been chosen from the large number of bidders.
The Scientific Research Centre of Extreme Light Infrastructure - Nuclear Physics (ELI-NP), to be raised on the Physics Platform from Bucureşti-Măgurele, is a research centre in nuclear physics field. This is one of the three European axes of the project ELI, the most advances structure in the world aimed for studies of the photonic radiation with extreme characteristics. The other two centres - ELI-Beamlines and ELI-ALPS – will be implemented in Prague (Czech Republic) and Szeged (Hungary).
The construction of ELI-NP research centre at Măgurele should be finalized by the autumn of 2014, followed by the installing of the two high power lasers and the gamma radiation system, the centre being operational staring 2017. (source: zf.ro)
