In July 2014 construction works registered a 0.6 per cent year-on-year growth in the European Union and a 0.4 per cent year-on-year growth in the Euro Area.

Among member states, construction works registered the most significant year-on-year decline in Romania (-19.7 per cent), Portugal (-8.8 per cent) and Slovakia (-6.1 per cent), and the highest growth in Slovenia (+24.8 per cent), Hungary (+17.5 per cent) and Spain (+11.6 per cent).

Compared to the month before, in July construction works remained stable within the EU and the Euro Area. In June, construction works dropped by 0.4 per cent in the Euro Area and by 0.1 per cent in the EU.

Among member states, construction works registered in July the most significant month-on-month decline in the Czech Republic (-3.1 per cent), Slovenia (-2.1 per cent), France (-1.5 per cent) and Poland (-1 per cent), and the biggest growth in Hungary (+3.9 per cent), Germany (+1.7 per cent), Sweden and Spain (+1 per cent).
