The maintenance and current repair works went up by 28.7% year-on-year whereas the new construction work grew by 1.5%. Capital repair works dropped by 1.2%.

When looking at the building type, the work on residential buildings went up by 11.7% in January this year over January 2015 whereas the work on non-residential buildings increased by 8.2%. The engineering construction work rose by 3.9% year-on-year.

Compared to December 2015, the volume of construction work went down by 73.5% as a gross series and by 11.7% in seasonally adjusted terms. (source: Romania-insider.com)
