Benevo will develop the mall on the plot of the former factory Textila Dacia in northern Bucharest, according to sources in the real estate market cited by local Profit.ro. The French food retailer Cora had been initially involved in the project, but later decided to drop it, as it halted its expansion in Romania.
Bucurestii Noi, the area which will host the new shopping mall, also has the Colosseum Retail Park and could also host another shopping center developed by Israeli investor AFI Europe.
A developer needs to conclude an agreement with a hypermarket network before it starts the construction of a commercial center.
