This is Carrefour’s 29th hypermarket in Romania. The new store is ten times bigger than a supermarket, said Jean Baptiste Dernoncourt, Carrefour Romania’s general director.
The new investment has created 300 new jobs, he added. Carrefour Timisoara has equipment which reduces the electricity consumption as well as the carbon dioxide emissions.
In Romania, Carrefour owns 186 stores, 29 of which are hypermarkets and 104 are supermarkets. The company had a turnover of over EUR 1 billion in 2014. (source: Romania-insider.com)
