Carrefour Romania launches online hypermarket
The Romanian subsidiary of French retailer Carrefour has launched an online hypermarket, presently in beta version, where visitors can shop for groceries which are later delivered at home in Bucharest and neighboring areas, according to Mediafax newswire
The online store sells some 7,000 products.
The minimum order at carrefour-online.ro is RON 150 (approximately EUR 34) and the transport fee is RON 15 (approximately EUR 3.4) for anywhere the retailer delivers. Orders can be placed 24 hours, 7 days a week. Deliveries are made Monday to Friday between 14:00 and 22:00 and Saturday between 10:00 and 15:00.
The retailer delivers in Bucharest and Buftea, Buciumeni, Otopeni, Balotesti, Berceni, Bragadiru, Chiajna, Dudu, Roşu, Chitila, Rudeni, Ciorogarla, Clinceni, Olteni, Corbeanca, Ostratu, Petresti, Cornetu, Dobroesti, Fundeni, Domnesti, Dragomiresti Deal si Vale, Glina, Catelu, Manolache, Jilava, Magurele, Alunisu, Varteju, Mogosoaia, Pantelimon, Popesti-Leordeni, Stefsnestii de Jos, Tunari, Dimieni, Voluntari, Pipera, Darvari and Buda.
The only other large retailer in Romania which has launched an online store is Metro Cash&Carry in January 2012. The online store sells office stationery products and various electronic appliances.
Carrefour Romania has a network of 24 hypermarkets, 68 supermarkets and 20 proximity stores. (source: business-review.ro)
