This summer Raiffeisen Bank organized events for entrepreneurs in five large Romanian cities (Cluj, Iasi, Timisoara, Brasov, Constanta), events dedicated to interactive talks on issues such as financing opportunities and methods, fiscal regulations, the perception of the economic crisis, of the Romanian entrepreneurial environment, but also of business success and difficulties.

At the end of each event the participants responded to a questionnaire that formed the basis of a barometer of the Romanian entrepreneurial environment, with the stress laid on the business sector’s expectations and perceptions. Here are some of the conclusions of the survey.

95 per cent of the respondents are confident in what concerns the Romanian economy’s direction, 40 per cent are somewhat confident and 3 per cent are very confident. 88 per cent of the respondents state that their company’s turnover will grow in 2015, 12 per cent forecast a turnover growth of over 30 per cent, 13 per cent expect a turnover growth of 20-30 per cent, 29 per cent a turnover growth of 10-20 per cent and 20 per cent a turnover growth of 5-10 per cent.

On the other hand, 59 per cent of the respondents believe that their company’s number of employees will not grow in 2015 (37 per cent) or will grow by a very small margin ranging from 1 to 5 per cent (22 per cent). 25 per cent believe that their number of employees could grow by 5-20 per cent this year, the most optimistic entrepreneurs from this point of view being those in Cluj.

The survey in which 250 entrepreneurs from Cluj, Constanta, Iasi, Brasov and Timisoara took part shows that the Romanian business sector is moderately optimistic and expects favourable economic developments in Romania in the immediately following period. (source: nineoclock.ro)
